Taking the time to research the best dog training options for you and your pet is very important. When you read about me, my dog training philosophy, my formal dog training schooling, and dog training experience, I believe you will see that no one is more passionate about the topic of family pet than me. Although I do disagree with some other philosophies and individuals in this community, we are all in this business because we care about what we do and dogs.
Dogs have always been great companions and with the proper dog training, your companion can be even more successful than you ever imagined. A dog training philosophy based on love and respect provides you this opportunity.
I have been honored to receive a wide range of formal education and practical real world dog training from dog handlers, dog trainers, and animal behaviorists. I truly feel that after having so much formal education and over 14 years of dog training experience at such a high level, I can offer you the most modern and positive-based training available. A feeling of complete satisfaction is not only possible, but it is my standard. Please know it is never too early or too late to have proper dog training.
My dog training is all one-on-one, in your home, allowing me to guarantee that your dog receives the most quality dog training your dog can possibly receive. You, and your dog, will not have to wait your turn in a class, hope that the individual trainer is even qualified, or more importantly, knowledgeable. Dog training is like any profession, you either have it or you don’t. I do not believe in dropping dogs from dog training classes because they are being disruptive. You are there for that specific reason! I will not try to cover up any deficiencies I have by telling you it’s your fault, or continually saying it’s going to take more time. These are examples of poor dog training. Please do not put your faith and pets future in the hands of an under-qualified individual.
A qualified dog trainer can handle any situation that can occur at anytime, from you or your dog. It is by choice that some individual trainers or organizations choose to produce quantity over quality. You and your pet should not have to suffer because of that.
There are current methods of dog training that I completely disagree with: the Domination/Showing Who’s in Charge/Submitting Your Dog and the Cookie/Food Reward/Avoidance/Clicker methods.
Domination/Showing Who’s in Charge/Submitting Your Dog
This type of dog training has no place in today’s world. There is nothing positive at all about this method of dog training in principal, practice, or results. If it doesn’t look right to you and your animal is in extended and unreasonable duress, it is WRONG. Your family pet, regardless of issue or issues, does not need to feel anything less than a member of your family. When people always classify everything their dog does as trying to establish dominance they are being too short sighted. A dog regardless of issue can be shown right and wrong without being utterly terrified or submitting to anything. People can break a dog’s spirit and personality, making them untrusting with this type of dog training.
Cookie/Food Reward/Avoidance/Clicker
These methods of dog training are ineffective and in my opinion useless. They are often passed off as the newest and highly effective methods of dog training available to dog owners. Unfortunately they are the oldest forms of dog training, with new wording. Dog trainers with limited education and experience often offer this method of dog training. My personal feeling on this dog training subject is give your dog as many cookies as you want, within healthy reason, just don’t do it in the context of trying to make your dog learn something. Why would anyone expect their dog to listen to them, with multiple distractions, when they only received food reward dog training? Avoiding the issue does not correct the issue.
If you currently have or have had issues with your dog, PLEASE do not make any decisions on the future of you and your dog’s relationship or your dog’s life, when based on training that you and your dog received with these types of dog training methods. There is so many more healthy and effective dog training methods that I can offer you.
